At the biggest and toughest catamaran regatta in the world - the "Ronde om Texel" - our swordless TOPCAT K2X Regatta occupies the first two places for all boats with a rating of > 106 and even finishes ahead of the majority of the faster rated formula catamarans!
At the same time, the K2X is much easier to set up, much easier to handle and much easier and more comfortable to sail!
Responsible for this, besides good seamanship, are special details that are only available from TOPCAT:
Hull Design
Full maneuverability in shallows and when landing - for us, centerboard-less hulls are uncompromising. Swordless hulls, on the other hand, often have a lot of buoyancy at the bow. Thanks to our modern design, we can also realize generous volume in the bow area through a U-frame and optimize the behavior in the wave through the wave piercer design - this makes our new hull design unique: The result is a swordless Cat that runs a lot of height with little rudder pressure and reduces the danger of plugging to a minimum through the large buoyancy reserves.
Furling gennaker
We have a well thought-out furling gennaker system, which is not only ideal for recreational sailors due to its ease of use and wide wind range, but also provides our regatta sailors with decent performance due to its generous cut.
And what pleases all sailors: The Furling gennaker can be rolled up and dismantled or attached within 1 minute thanks to the accesible gennaker halyard at the mast.
Trampoline with stern bracing
Our hulls are only tucked into the beams and allow for uniquely quick assembly. The proven two-piece trampoline is supplemented with a rear bracing on the TOPCAT K2X (and K3X) - so it is not only easier to pull in, but also much tighter and free of wrinkles. Thus you have optimal comfort and a stiff plattform on the water.
